Come and experience the pulsating rhythm of the Cape that makes South Africa's "Mother City" such a popular holiday destination. From sampling some our local cuisine and trying some of our award-winning wines, to taking in the beauty of the Cape Peninsula and Garden Route, this tour combines some of the best attractions that South Africa has to offer.

Spend a couple of days and nights in Cape Town, enjoying various excursions, for example, no visit to Cape Town would be complete without a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain - Cape Town's most popular landmark. After enjoying a couple of days in Cape Town, we will take you along the scenically beautiful Garden Route - popular with tourists and locals alike.

The Garden Route offers one a kaleidoscope of stunning scenery with plenty to do see and do along the way. One of your highlights will be the unique opportunity to touch a live Cheetah at the Cango Wildlife Ranch in Oudtshoorn.

After our first week, you will find yourself in the Addo Elephant National Park - the best place in the world to get up close and personal with the biggest of the land mammals. From nearby Port Elisabeth we fly to Johannesburg, to experience our last days with the vibrance of township life as well as various learning about the history of our country.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Cape Town

Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by a local English-speaking tour guide and welcomed into South Africa’s popular "Mother City". You will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. After lunch you will be taken to one of Cape Town’s medical clinics for dialysis treatment, followed by a return transfer to your hotel to freshen up before enjoying a traditional African dinner at Mama Afrika restaurant. Overnight at City Lodge, Waterfront - B/L/D.

Day 2: Cape Town

Today will be a full day’s excursion where we will take a scenic drive along the Cape Peninsula. Included in todays’ excursion will be a short boat cruise to Seal Island to view our large Cape Fur Seal Colony. At the tip of the Cape Peninsula you will find Cape Point situated within the Cape Peninsula National Park where we will transfer to the Lighthouse lookout by funicular or on foot for spectacular views over the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. Lunch will be served en route at a local seafood restaurant.

After lunch we will visit Boulders Beach to view our resident African Penguin colony. Enjoy a traditional dinner at the Africa Café and overnight at City Lodge, Waterfront - B/L/D.

Day 3: Cape Town

After breakfast, depart your hotel for the clinic where you will undergo your dialysis treatment. Afterwards, transfer to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront - Cape Town’s premier shopping and entertainment complex - to enjoy lunch at one of our many local restaurants. After lunch, you will have the opportunity to do some shopping, or you might prefer to return to your hotel for a short rest.

During the late afternoon we will depart from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront for a sundowner cruise on board a boat called 'Alice' (weather permitting). Travelling via Moulle Point and Seapoint, we will arrive in Clifton where we will enjoy a barbeque on board whilst taking in one of Cape Town’s stunning sunsets. Kayaking is also available from the boat. We shall return to the Waterfront after sunset and overnight at City Lodge, Waterfront.

Day 4: Cape Town

After breakfast, we embark on a morning excursion to Cape Town’s most famous landmark - Table Mountain. No visit to Cape Town would be complete without a cable car ride to the top of the mountain. Sight-seeing from the top of this massif provides one with unequalled panoramic views of Cape Town. Afterwards we will transfer to the beautiful Cape Winelands areas of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek for wine-tasting at some of our local award-winning wine estates. Lunch will also be served at one of the wine estates along the way. Late afternoon return to Cape Town. Overnight at City Lodge, Waterfront - B/L/D

Day 5: Hermanus

This morning we begin our day once again with a visit to the clinic for dialysis. After treatment we depart Cape Town for the start of our journey along the scenically beautiful Garden Route. Our first stop will be Hermanus - one of South Africa’s popular coastal holiday villages (well-known for wonderful whale-watching opportunities from July - November). Lunch will be served en-route at a local restaurant. We will overnight in a comfortable guest house/hotel in Hermanus.

Day 6: Hermanus

Today you will enjoy a full day at leisure in Hermanus. Optional tours available include a boat trip with shark-diving/observation. All meals will be included. Overnight at your guest house/hotel in Hermanus.

Day 7: Knysna

After breakfast, transfer to a medical clinic in Hermanus for dialysis treatment. Afterwards, leaving Hermanus behind, we continue with our journey along the Garden Route. Your route will take you via Mossel Bay and George to the coastal holiday village of Knysna - this quaint town has been voted South Africa’s favourite town.

It is the place of adventure, with everything from adrenaline-thumping extreme sports to the more relaxing pleasures of arts, crafts and culture. The Waterfront at the Knysna Quays is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, and offers unusual restaurants, bookshops, clothes, gifts and jewellery stores. Lunch will be enjoyed at Knysna’s popular Waterfront.

This afternoon we will enjoy a sunset cruise on the Knysna Lagoon on board the 'John Benn' ferry, taking in the spectacular scenery of the Knysna Heads. There are plenty of local restaurants to choose from as dinner venues. Overnight at Knysna Hollow Country Estate - B/L/D.

Day 8: Knysna - Oudtshoorn

After breakfast, we will make our way inland, towards the Karoo town of Oudtshoorn, where we will enjoy an excursion to the famous Cango Caves, followed by a visit to one of the many local Ostrich Farms in the area and of course one cannot miss out on Oudtshoorn’s most popular tourist attraction - the Cango Wildlife Ranch, where one can observe cheetahs, lions, jaguars, pumas and white Bengal tigers.

The Cango Wildlife Ranch and its breeding centre is carefully designed so that its more than 47 species of animals and reptiles can roam peacefully in comfortable natural enclosures, giving visitors the opportunity to closely observe, and in some cases, interact with a wide variety of unusual and endangered animals. Here you will also have the unique opportunity to stroke a live cheetah! We will return to Knysna during the late afternoon where we will have dinner and overnight at Knysna Hollow Country Estate - B/L/D.

Day 9: Tsitsikama

After breakfast, we make our way to a clinic in George for dialysis treatment. Afterwards we head further along the Garden Route towards Tsitsikamma. Spectacular scenery includes the Indian Ocean breakers, pounding rocky shores beneath 180 m high cliffs, ever-green forests and fynbos (proteas and heath) rolling down to the sea in a lush carpet where ancient rivers have carved their path to the ocean through rocky ravines. Overnight at Tsitsikamma Village Inn - B/L/D.

Day 10: Addo Elephant Park

Today we travel further along the Garden Route via the Plettenberg Bay towards Port Elizabeth. 72kms from Port Elizabeth in the Sundays River Valley and Zuurberg Mountain range, we will arrive at the Addo Elephant National Park - the best place in the world to get up close and personal with the biggest land mammal. This park is sanctuary to over 420 elephants, 450 Cape buffalo, black rhino, and a variety of antelope species.

Accommodation in the park will be in standard bungalows. This afternoon we will enjoy a game drive in the Addo Reserve. Overnight at Addo Elephant National Park - B/L/D.

Day 11: Addo Elephant Park

Enjoy an early morning game drive, followed by breakfast back at your camp. After breakfast, we will transfer to a medical clinic in Port Elizabeth, where you will go for dialysis treatment. Afterwards we return to Addo Elephant Park for an evening game drive, followed by dinner. Overnight at Addo Elephant National Park - B/L/D.

Day 12: Addo Elephant Park

Enjoy a full day at leisure in the Addo Elephant National Park, with morning and afternoon game drives offer. In addition, there are also various optional activities available including breathtaking horse-riding trails - experience the thrill of riding on horseback between herds of elephant, 4x4 adventure rides, nature and walking trails through pristine bush and of course game-viewing which guarantees one of close encounters with the parks’ main inhabitants.

One can also enjoy guided night drives where you will join rhino, buffalo and a host of other nocturnal hunters in the lush Addo bush. Overnight at Addo Elephant National Park - B/L/D.

Day 13: Johannesburg

After breakfast, we transfer to the clinic in Port Elizabeth for dialysis before transferring to the airport in time to connect with your flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. After lunch at your hotel, time to relax or time for some shopping in one of the local shopping centres. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant and overnight at City Lodge, Morningside - B/L/D.

Day 14:

This morning we depart our hotel for a tour of Soweto township – where you will experience a taste of vibrant township life. Explore the historical, social and artistic aspects of Soweto life. This is your opportunity to gain a new perspective and personal insight into one of the largest black cities in Africa. Visit one of the biggest hospitals, former house of Nelson and Winnie Mandela, the Hector Pieterson Memorial, Kliptown freedom square, Apartheid Museum, shebeens, etc.

Enjoy a traditional lunch in the township, followed by a transfer to a medical clinic close-by for dialysis treatment. Late afternoon airport transfer in time to connect with your international flight.
