Safety and insurance

Wheelchair accessible safaris, disabled travel information

Comfort and safety are the two most important factors for our guests. Inside our safari vehicles we have installed the Unwin Safety System with a 2-point harness wheelchair locking device for clients who need to remain seated in their wheelchairs.

All clients travelling with Endeavour Safaris require their own medical insurance. In the event of a medical emergency, as part of our insurance, we are covered with air evacuation in case this is required by any of our clients. In such emergency cases, clients will be air-evacuated to the nearest hospital.

On all of our remote destinations we travel with a satellite phone which allows us instant contact with medical air-rescue teams, should this become necessary.

We are also able to offer comprehensive travel medical cover to all of our travelling clients for the duration of their trip. This insurance is designed specifically for travel to South and southern Africa and has many benefits.

A few of the relevant benefits:

  • Cover of ZAR 10 million per vehicle
  • 24 Hour Call Centre
  • Emergency evacuation to a 1st class medical facility (when required)
  • Hospital admittance without cash deposits
  • Repatriation to place of residence in country of origin
  • Added benefit of trip cancellation / curtailment

We shall be happy to arrange your travel medical cover as part of your travel package, alternatively, should you wish to arrange this yourself, please e-mail one of the friendly consultants at Tourmed directly at: info@sa-tourmed.com.
