NATIONAL PARK & SUN CITY HIGHLIGHT - 11 DAYS (code:

This all-South
African tour includes a visit to South Africa’s most
renowned game reserve – namely, the Kruger National
Park – well known for its diversity of habitat and
wildlife. On the way to the Kruger Park, we will have time
for some spectacular sight-seeing along the Blyde River
Canyon, one of Africa’s natural wonders. We will also
take you to the 5-star Tshukudu Game Lodge for a 2-night
stay. Interestingly enough, this lodge is more than just
a game lodge – it has a lion breeding programme aimed
at keeping healthy numbers of lions that can be re-introduced
to various reserves countrywide. Here one can also share
in unique encounters with orphaned animals, meeting them
up close and personal – you will meet Savannah –
the lodge’s resident cheetah and you will also have
the chance to touch an elephant.
After
enjoying all the game-viewing opportunities in the Mpumalanga
and Limpopo area, you will experience the thrill of South
Africa’s Sun City Complex, which comprises a large
collection of restaurants, waterpark activities, shopping
& entertainment venues, as well as a multitude of leisure
and adventure activities on offer – from hot-air ballooning
to elephant-back riding. Come and enjoy some ‘fun
in the sun’ at this, South Africa’s premier
entertainment complex.
Day 1: JOHANNESBURG - MPUMALANGA
Overnight at Bohm’s Zeederberg– Dinner, B&B
Upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, you
will be met by a local tour guide for the start of your
South African tour. Departing Johannesburg, drive along
the N12 or the N4 towards East. At Belfast turn for Dullstroom
and start the Panorama Route. Your route leads you via Lydenberg
and stop at Pilgrim’s Rest, where you will have the
opportunity to explore living history in this old mining
village where gold was first discovered.
You will stop for lunch (own account) along the way and
arrive at your Guesthouse in the afternoon in time to relax
before dinner.
Day 2: MPUMALANGA
Overnight at Bohm’s Zeederberg– Dinner, B&B
Today you will have a full day to spend in Mpumalanga; you
will have time to visit the Blyde River Canyon (R532). En
route enjoy a stop at God's Window, Mac Mac Falls and Bourke’s
Luck Potholes - cylindrical holes formed by the swirling
waters at the confluence of the Blyde and Treur Rivers.
After lunch you will make our way back to your Guest House.
Days 3: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Overnight in an accessible Chalet, Kruger National Park
– only accommodation
After a leisurely breakfast, we depart for the well-known
Kruger National Park.
After lunch, we continue on our way towards Kruger National
Park. The park was established in 1898 and stretches for
350kms from south to north along the Mozambiquan border
to where South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe meet. Well
known for its diversity of habitat and wildlife, Kruger
offers visitors an excellent opportunity to experience close
encounters with elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard
in a natural unfenced environment. Wild dog, cheetah, zebra,
giraffe and a variety of other species are also indigenous
to this park. Late afternoon arrival in your camp situated
inside the Park. If time permits, we may go for a late afternoon
game drive.
Day 4 and 5: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Overnight in an accessible Chalet, Kruger National Park
– only accommodation
The following 2 days will be spent enjoying the game-viewing
in the Kruger National Park – with early morning and
late afternoon departures from your camp. Return to your
chalets during the heat of the day for some leisure time.
Optional night game drives can be arranged from here to
view the nocturnal nightlife present in the reserve.
Optional Activities: Day and night game drives on an open
vehicle. The Opentop vehicles are not accessible for wheelchair
users unless you can transfer into the front seat.
Day 6 and 7: LIMPOPO 0 THSUKUDU LODGE
Overnight at Thsukudu Lodge- Full board basis
This morning after a leisure breakfast, we depart the Kruger
area and head towards our next destination: Tshukudu Game
Lodge – a ‘Big Five’paradise where animals
can be enjoyed in their natural habitat on a smaller scale
than in the Kruger Park, increasing the chances of excellent
sightings and preserving a private atmosphere. Enjoy a night
of luxury at the lodge.
On the second
day we will have a full day to spend at Tshukudu, providing
the opportunity to take part in the various game activities
on offer. Tshukudu emphasises the conservation of the vegetation,
animal, insect and bird life in the area. Share in unique
encounters with orphaned animals, meeting them up close
and personal – you will meet Savannah – the
lodge’s resident cheetah and you will also have the
chance to touch an elephant.
Tsukudu
also has a lion breeding programme aimed at keeping healthy
numbers of lions that can be re-introduced to various reserved
countrywide.
Day 8: JOHANNESBURG / PRETORIA
Overnight in 3 star Hotel in Johannesburg / Pretoria - BB
Today after breakfast you will enjoy some leisure time before
we drive back to Johannesburg and Pretoria. We will be at
our Hotel in the late afternoon, in time for dinner.
Day 9: SUN CITY
Overnight at Sun City Cabanas – BB
This morning we will drive towards your next destination
– Sun City. After checking-in, enjoy some leisure
time before lunch, which will be served at one of the many
restaurants within the Sun City complex. The afternoon is
for you to enjoy at your leisure, providing the opportunity
to partake in the many activities on offer.
Day 10: SUN CITY
Overnight at Sun City Cabanas - BB
Optional Activities: Day Tour to Pilanesberg National Park
Today is also for you to enjoy the full day at leisure at
the Sun City Complex, allowing clients the opportunity to
partake in the various activities on offer at the Sun City
complex, including game drives; elephant back safaris; golf;
casino; balloon safaris; cinema; health spa; parasailing;
swimming; water sports; horse-riding; and many more activities
to choose from.
Day 11: This morning, after a leisurely
breakfast, we will depart Sun City and head back towards
Johannesburg (approx. 2.5 hours drive). Your tour guide
will drop you off at OR Tambo International Airport to connect
your flight back home.
